The client portal

Canceling a Subscription

How do you cancel? Start from Billing in your portal. The flow writes the complete written notice for you, shows you every word, and sends it. Business and personal purchases follow different timing.

Updated

Cancel from your portal. Open Billing, find the subscription, and choose Cancel subscription. The flow writes the complete cancellation notice for you, fills in every field the terms require from your own records, shows you the whole thing, and sends it when you press one button. You never have to compose anything.

The two screens

  • The first screen states the consequences before anything happens: the amount, when the current term ends, the notice deadline, and whether today is inside or outside the window. Nothing is cancelled or sent on that screen.
  • The second screen shows the finished notice, read only. One button sends it to [email protected], the notice address in the terms, with a copy to you. The notice goes in the body of the email, never as an attachment, and the sent time is stamped by our server at the moment you press send.

Business and personal purchases run on different clocks

  • Business subscriptions: notice must reach us at least 14 days before the renewal date. Notice that arrives after that deadline applies to the following term, and the closing renewal is still charged.
  • Personal, family, or household purchases: you can cancel online at any time, and your cancellation stops the next renewal regardless of the 14 day window. For these purchases the portal flow also switches off the automatic renewal for you.

What cancelling does and does not do

  • It stops the renewal, not your service today. We confirm the exact end date back to you in writing.
  • It is not a refund request. The non-refundable list, and the website project exception, are in section 16 of the Terms of Use.
  • Sending a second notice changes nothing. The portal tells you when one is already on file.

You can also cancel by email to [email protected] with the details section 14 of the terms lists, written in the body of the message. The portal flow exists so you never have to get that right by hand.

The deadline is never a surprise: four reminder emails name it as a calendar date ahead of every renewal. See Renewal reminder emails.
