Four reminder emails go out ahead of every renewal, and every one of them names your cancellation deadline as a specific calendar date, in Pacific time. The deadline in the email is read from the same record your Billing page shows, never recalculated, so the two can never disagree.
The schedule
- 45 days before: an early heads up, so you have time to decide. Nothing needs doing if you are happy to carry on.
- 30 days before: a short reminder naming the renewal date and the deadline.
- 21 days before: the last reminder sent while you can still stop the renewal.
- 3 days before: a charge confirmation. By this point the 14 day notice window has closed, so this email carries no cancellation link; it still names the deadline and explains that a notice sent now applies to the following term.
Each reminder covers a window of days rather than one exact night, so a reminder cannot be silently skipped. A subscription that starts close to its renewal simply enters the schedule at whichever reminder matches how far out it is, and you get each of the four at most once per renewal.
What every email contains
- The item, and the order number where there is one.
- The renewal date, and the amount at renewal when we hold it. When we do not hold the exact figure, the email omits the amount rather than guessing; the figure is on your invoice.
- The calendar date your cancellation notice must reach us by.
- How to cancel: the portal flow, which writes and sends the notice for you, or an email with the notice written in the body of the message. An attachment on its own is not valid notice.
Who the deadline binds
The 14 day deadline applies to business subscriptions under section 16 of the Terms of Use. If you bought for personal, family, or household use, you can cancel online at any time and your cancellation stops the next renewal, and every reminder says so alongside the deadline.
When you are ready to act on one, the whole flow is in Canceling a subscription.
