Hosting and email plans renew automatically each term until you cancel. At checkout you authorize the renewal charge to your saved payment method, and every renewal notice names the renewal date, the amount, and the cancellation deadline. You are never left to work the deadline out yourself: we email it to you, as a calendar date, ahead of every renewal.
The reminder emails
Ahead of each renewal you get up to four reminder emails, at about 45, 30, 21, and 3 days before the renewal date. Every one of them names your cancellation deadline as a calendar date, and states the amount from the order you actually paid where one exists. The final reminder, about 3 days out, is a charge confirmation: by then the cancellation window for that term has closed, and the email says so instead of offering a cancel button that could not work.
The cancellation deadline
- Business subscriptions: cancellation notice must reach us at least 14 days before the renewal date. Notice that arrives after the deadline applies to the following term, so the current term still renews.
- Consumers: if you bought for personal, family, or household use rather than for business purposes, you can cancel online at any time, and your cancellation stops the next renewal regardless of the 14 day window.
The full rules are in section 16 of the Terms of Use.
How to cancel
- Use the cancellation flow in your client portal. It prepares the complete written notice with every required detail filled in, shows it to you, and sends it. This is the primary channel.
- Or email [email protected] with the notice written in the body of the message. An attachment on its own is not valid notice, so write it in the body.
Domains work differently: a domain renewal is never an automatic card charge, it is invoiced as a new charge instead. How Domain Renewals Work covers that, and if anything about a renewal looks wrong, contact us before the renewal date.
