How a Website Project Runs

How does a website project work from kickoff to launch? Drafts and staging links for review, 5 business days to request in-scope fixes, and approval in the portal or by email.

Updated

A website project runs as a review loop. We build against the scope in your proposal, SOW, or order, then hand you drafts, demos, or staging links to click through. From each delivery you have 5 business days to request in-scope fixes. When the final version looks right, you approve it in the client portal or in writing, and the project moves to Publish or Go-Live.

The review loop

  • We deliver a draft, demo, or staging link. A staging link is a private working copy of the real site, so you review actual pages rather than screenshots.
  • You have 5 business days from delivery to request in-scope fixes, and we make them.
  • Anything outside the original scope needs a written change order, with the fee and timeline adjusted in writing.
  • Delays in your content or approvals extend the timeline by the same amount, so the fastest projects are the ones where feedback arrives early.

Approval, and what happens if you go quiet

Work is accepted when you approve it in the client portal or in writing, and an email counts as writing. If you do not respond at all, the work is deemed accepted only when all three of the following are true: 10 business days have passed since delivery, we have sent you two written notices asking for your review, and you have put the work into production use. Silence alone never accepts anything.

Refunds while the project is running

A website design or build project stays refundable until you approve Publish or Go-Live or the work is deemed accepted. The point of no return is your approval, not our delivery. The full refund rules, including the processor fees deducted from any refund, are in the Terms of Use.

When you are close to launch, read Approving your website so you know exactly what Go-Live approval changes. Questions about a running project belong in a portal ticket or through contact.
