Between the July 2020 and July 2025 values, Irvine grew from 308,368 to 318,764 and moved past Santa Ana, while the county total fell from 3,186,167 to 3,149,507. The 130,926 residents of unincorporated Orange County, counted as one place, would rank eighth, ahead of Costa Mesa (108,881).
