Houston service area pages let a business based in one part of the metro describe work it does in others, such as a Pearland crew that also takes jobs in League City or a Katy company that runs southwest to Fulshear. This guide covers which suburbs to build pages for first and what each page needs.
It uses the U.S. Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 population estimates and the page structure from our Prime Towing case study, a Houston towing project.
Start with your jobs, then size each suburb
List the suburbs where you completed work in the last year. Cut any your crews cannot reach within the response time you quote, and put the rest in priority order. Then check how large each place is. Vintage 2025 estimates for July 1, 2025:
- Pasadena: 148,539
- Pearland: 129,930
- League City: 119,905
- Conroe: 119,564
- Sugar Land: 107,726
- Missouri City: 77,327
- Fulshear: 64,630
- Katy: 28,373
- Stafford: 18,043
- Richmond: 13,389
The Woodlands, Spring and Cypress have no line in these estimates, which cover incorporated cities. Plan pages for those communities from your job history.
Growth is uneven across the suburbs
The Vintage 2025 estimates also compare each city with its April 2020 estimates base:
- Fulshear went from 16,269 to 64,630, nearly four times its 2020 size.
- Conroe went from 89,899 to 119,564.
- Katy went from 21,876 to 28,373.
- League City went from 114,332 to 119,905.
- Pasadena went from 151,938 to 148,539, and Sugar Land from 111,018 to 107,726. Both were also smaller in 2025 than in 2024, when the Vintage 2025 estimates put them at 149,276 and 108,937.
Population change is one input and your job history is the other. A steady suburb where you already work every week can earn a page before a fast-growing one your crews rarely reach.
County lines run through Houston suburbs
Several suburbs sit in more than one county. The Vintage 2025 estimates split them this way:
- Katy: Harris County 14,913, Fort Bend County 6,985, Waller County 6,475.
- Pearland: Brazoria County 115,821, Harris County 8,219, Fort Bend County 5,890.
- Missouri City: Fort Bend County 71,300, Harris County 6,027.
- Houston itself: Harris County 2,347,346, Fort Bend County 43,668, Montgomery County 6,301.
If a page names counties, list every county the suburb sits in, so a Katy page names Waller County along with Harris and Fort Bend. Your business address stays in one exact form on every listing.
What belongs on Houston service area pages
A suburb earns its own page when you can write things about it that would not be true of the next suburb over. Each page needs:
- A heading that pairs the service with the suburb, such as water heater repair in Pearland.
- Two or three short job notes with photos taken in that suburb.
- The roads and landmarks you use there: SH 288 for Pearland, I-10 and the Grand Parkway for Katy, I-45 for Conroe and The Woodlands, SH 225 for Pasadena.
- Links to the matching service pages, and links back from them.
- How scheduling or dispatch works in that area.
- Reviews from customers there, quoted word for word.
- A tap-to-call phone number near the top.
Then run one test: delete the suburb name and read the page again. If you can no longer tell which suburb it covers, add local detail or hold the page back.
Build in corridor order
Start with the corridor your base sits on and work outward. A crew based in League City can begin there, then add Clear Lake if it already works there. A company based near the Energy Corridor can begin with Katy, then add Fulshear once it has jobs there to describe. A Stafford or Sugar Land base puts Richmond and Missouri City next in line.
Beltway 8 and the Grand Parkway link the corridors, so a second corridor can follow once the first has pages with jobs behind them. Finish one corridor's pages before opening the next.
How the Prime Towing pages were structured
The Prime Towing case study reports 16 service area pages targeting 6 cities, including Richmond, Stafford, Katy, Sugar Land, Missouri City and Houston, next to a dedicated page for each of the company's 11 services. Its stated aim for the service pages is that every call finds a match, and it counts the 16 area pages as Houston-area service pages with dedicated local SEO.
Add Houston suburb pages to a local SEO plan
An extra service area page, one more neighborhood page targeting its own searches, is an add-on to our local SEO service. The service also covers citations with one exact name, address and phone, tiered backlinks each month and a monthly report on rankings, Map Pack position and traffic.
