Miami, FL - South Florida

Local SEO for Miami and South Florida Businesses

Local SEO for Miami businesses: cleaned-up citations, backlinks built every month and Google Business Profile work for the parts of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties you serve, from Hialeah and Doral to Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. Extra service area pages are an add-on for any place you want to rank on its own.

The Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 population estimates count 489,812 people in the city of Miami on July 1, 2025, second in Florida after Jacksonville. Those Vintage 2025 estimates place 6,391,072 people in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metro area, the eighth-largest metropolitan statistical area in the country, so roughly one metro resident in 13 lives inside Miami city limits. For a Miami local SEO campaign, the first decision is which slice of that metro you serve, and citations, links and pages then follow those places.

Three counties and 104 municipalities

The metro area is three counties and nothing more. In the Vintage 2025 estimates, Miami-Dade County had 2,802,029 residents, Broward County 2,013,317 and Palm Beach County 1,575,726. The Vintage 2025 estimates report the metro in three metropolitan divisions: Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall, Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise and West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach.

Local government differs by county, and that changes how you write a target list. The Vintage 2025 estimates list 34 incorporated cities, towns and villages in Miami-Dade, 31 in Broward and 39 in Palm Beach. Those Vintage 2025 estimates count only 17,417 Broward residents outside a municipality, under 1 percent of the county, against 1,211,402 in Miami-Dade (43 percent) and 685,940 in Palm Beach (44 percent). Kendall, named in the Miami division's title, has no row in the Census city estimates because it is not an incorporated city. A Broward target list can follow city names, while a Miami-Dade or Palm Beach list should also name the unincorporated communities you serve.

Corridors that order a South Florida service area

When you order, you list the cities and neighborhoods you want to rank in, in priority order, and we map Map Pack targets from that ranking. The three counties are stacked north to south along the Atlantic coast, so the highways leading out of your base give the ranking a sensible sequence. Figures in parentheses are July 1, 2025 populations from the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates:

  • Downtown and the bay: Miami (489,812), Miami Beach (81,594) across Biscayne Bay on the causeways, and Coral Gables (49,578) southwest of downtown.
  • The Palmetto Expressway and SR 836: Hialeah (230,968) north of Miami International Airport and Doral (81,634) west of it.
  • US 1 and the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike: south through Kendall to Homestead (86,242), near the Turnpike's southern end at Florida City.
  • I-95 through Broward: Hollywood (157,019) and Fort Lauderdale (188,677), where I-595 heads west.
  • I-75 and the Sawgrass Expressway: Pembroke Pines (176,714) and Coral Springs (138,783) in western Broward.
  • I-95 and Florida's Turnpike through Palm Beach County: Boca Raton (101,582) at the county's southern edge and West Palm Beach (127,189), its largest city.

Your base sets the order. A company in Hialeah and one in Boca Raton would start their lists in different counties, and their Map Pack targets would differ with them.

What our local SEO service covers in South Florida

Each part of our local SEO service is aimed at the South Florida places you rank:

  • Audit first. We review your Google Business Profile, the citations you already have and your reviews, then set Map Pack and keyword targets place by place, whether the place is a city such as Doral or an unincorporated community such as Kendall.
  • Citations. Your name, address and phone, identical everywhere: 30 general directory listings on Starter, 40 industry and local listings, tracked, on Business, or 80+ from deep industry and local stacks on Biz+. In Miami-Dade County alone, the Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns counted 4,083 law offices with paid employees, so a Miami-Dade firm should weigh whether it needs the industry directories that begin at Business.
  • Links. Tiered backlinks go out every month, pointed at your site and at the landing pages you choose, for example a Hialeah page or a Fort Lauderdale page. Over the campaign that comes to roughly 1,000 links on Starter, roughly 5,000 on Business and up to roughly 100k dynamic links on Biz+, where 2 to 5 guest posts a month with topic-relevant publishers are also placed.
  • Profile enhancements. Business and Biz+ include monthly Google Business Profile posts, Q&A, services and UTM tagging, and the posts can feature places on your list from Doral to West Palm Beach.
  • Add-ons. Extra service area pages, one per place you want to rank on its own, such as Kendall or Coral Springs. An additional Google Business Profile location for a second real address, like a Broward office next to a Miami one. Review response management, where we reply to every review in your voice within a day.

A monthly report covers rankings, Map Pack position and traffic. Plan contents sit side by side on our pricing page.

Proof from outside South Florida

We have no clients in South Florida. Two case studies from California show the same kind of work, and each reports only its own results.

The Simple Lane Insurance Agency case study is about an insurance agency in San Diego County, California. We also designed and built its website, which is web design work outside our local SEO plans, with 8 coverage pillar pages, 28 city service-area pages and a bilingual interface. Se habla espanol is one of four trust signals on every page, and Spanish-language queries were among its search targets. The case study reports 28 cities served, 8+ coverage pillars and a 4.7 Google rating from 39+ verified Google reviews.

The Fast Hook Towing case study is about a tow company in California's Inland Empire. Its site, also our web design work, was built with service area pages for 11+ cities, and its name, address and phone were aligned across 80+ directory citations. It counts 119 clicks and 27,000 impressions in Google Search Console between late June and late September 2026, and an 8.2 average position for 'tow truck near me'.

Simple Lane's 28 city pages were built for one county. An agency serving all three South Florida counties would choose from the 104 municipalities in the Vintage 2025 estimates plus the unincorporated communities, which is why the ranked list comes first.

Services for Miami businesses

Miami questions

Do you work with businesses in Broward and Palm Beach counties, or only in Miami?
All three counties. The Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates put 6,391,072 residents in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metro area, and about 92 percent of those residents are outside Miami city limits. A business anywhere in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County can start a campaign with us, and its target map is built from the places it lists.
My business is in Kendall, an unincorporated area. What should my listings and target list say?
Your listings carry one business name, address and phone, exactly as you give them to us and identical on every directory, because a mismatch creates duplicate listings. Kendall has no row in the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 city estimates, so its residents are part of the 1,211,402 people in Miami-Dade living outside any municipality in 2025. Name Kendall on your priority list, and add an extra service area page if you want it targeted on its own.
Can one Google Business Profile list Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton as service areas?
Yes, when you serve customers at their location in those cities. Each profile carries one address, and the cities you drive to go in its service area settings, even when they span Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. An office you run in Fort Lauderdale as well as Miami is a second address with its own profile, which is our Additional Google Business Profile location extra.
Can a Miami business add the Florida Keys to its target list?
Yes, if you serve customers there. Monroe County forms the Key West-Key Largo micropolitan area in the Vintage 2025 estimates, outside the Miami metro, with 80,406 residents. Key West (24,999 in the same Vintage 2025 estimates) and Marathon (10,060) can go on your priority list like any Miami-Dade city, and each can get an extra service area page.
What does local SEO cost in South Florida?
Prices are listed on our pricing page. Starter, Business and Biz+ are the three local SEO plans, and they differ by citation count and directory type, backlink volume, Google Business Profile enhancements (Business and Biz+) and guest posts (Biz+ only). For a campaign spanning Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, extra service area pages and additional Google Business Profile locations are priced as add-ons.
