Dallas, TX - Dallas-Fort Worth

Local SEO in Dallas for Dallas-Fort Worth Businesses

Local SEO for businesses in Dallas and across Dallas-Fort Worth: Google Business Profile work, citations with one exact name, address and phone, and monthly backlinks, aimed at the cities you serve, from Plano and Frisco to Irving, Garland and Arlington. Extra service area pages are available as an add-on.

Dallas had 1,329,491 residents on July 1, 2025, in the U.S. Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 population estimates, ninth among U.S. cities, and Fort Worth ranked tenth with 1,028,117. The same Vintage 2025 estimates count 8,477,157 people in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area, so under 16 percent of the metro lives inside Dallas city limits. Local SEO for a Dallas business starts by deciding which of the metro's 11 counties, and which cities inside them, you serve, then aiming citations, links and profile work at that list.

Two divisions, one metro

The Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 metro estimates split the metro area into two metropolitan divisions. Dallas-Plano-Irving had 5,742,098 residents in seven counties: Dallas (2,661,397), Collin (1,297,179), Denton (1,069,346), Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall and Hunt. Fort Worth-Arlington-Grapevine had 2,735,059 in four: Tarrant (2,248,466), Johnson, Parker and Wise.

Change between July 2024 and July 2025 was uneven in those Vintage 2025 estimates. Dallas County lost 2,616 residents and the city of Dallas 1,808, while Collin County added 42,966 and Fort Worth added 19,512, the largest one-year gain of any city in the metro.

The first planning question for a Dallas business is whether its priority list stays on the Dallas side of the metro or reaches into Tarrant County. The answer shapes the service areas on your Google Business Profile and whether a second location belongs in the plan.

Dallas corridors and the cities along them

The priority city list you give us at the start sets the Map Pack and keyword targets in the audit. From a Dallas base, the freeways out of downtown sort the suburbs into lists that differ by direction:

  • US 75 and the Dallas North Tollway, north: Richardson, Plano, Allen, McKinney and Frisco. In the Vintage 2025 estimates, Plano had 293,028 residents and McKinney 236,001.
  • I-35E, northwest: Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Lewisville and Denton, which had 169,431 residents in the Vintage 2025 estimates.
  • SH 183 and I-30, west: Irving, Grand Prairie and Arlington, on the way to Fort Worth. Irving had 257,076 residents and Arlington 402,134 in the Vintage 2025 estimates.
  • I-30, east: Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett and Rockwall. Garland had 249,625 residents in the Vintage 2025 estimates.
  • I-35E and US 67, south: Lancaster, DeSoto and Cedar Hill, then Waxahachie and Midlothian in Ellis County.

The President George Bush Turnpike and I-635 cut across these lines, so a company based in Carrollton and one based in Mesquite start from different lists and end up with different target maps.

What the local SEO service covers in Dallas

Each part of our local SEO service is pointed at the DFW cities on your list:

  • Audit first. We review your Google Business Profile, existing citations and reviews, then set Map Pack and keyword targets city by city, whether your list starts in Uptown and Oak Lawn or runs up US 75 to Allen.
  • Citations. Listings built and cleaned so your business name, address and phone match everywhere: 30 from general directories on Starter, 40 industry and local listings on Business, and 80+ from deep industry and local stacks on Biz+. The industry directories on Business and Biz+ follow your primary category, and a Dallas County roofing contractor with paid employees was one of 243 in the Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns, so that category choice matters.
  • Monthly tiered backlinks to your site and to the landing pages you flag as priorities, for example a Plano or Irving page.
  • Profile work. Every plan includes profile optimization and review generation support. Business and Biz+ add monthly posts, Q&A, services and UTM tagging, and Biz+ also places 2 to 5 guest posts a month with topic-relevant publishers.
  • Add-ons for a two-division metro. Extra service area pages for suburbs that deserve a page of their own, a second managed profile when you run another real address such as a Tarrant County shop or yard, and review response management that replies to each review in your voice inside 24 hours.
  • Reporting. Rankings, Map Pack position and traffic, reported monthly for your priority cities.

Tier details sit on our pricing page. For background, Google's help page on local ranking (opens in new tab) is linked here.

Proof from outside Dallas

We have no client in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. The two case studies below come from El Cajon, California and Houston, and they report only those clients' results.

The American Collision case study covers an auto body and collision shop in El Cajon, California. The site it describes is organized into 4 service categories, and the case study places the local SEO work in El Cajon and nearby East County San Diego communities. Results listed: a 5.0 Google reviews rating from verified customer reviews and PageSpeed 90+. The website build in that case study is outside what our local SEO plans include.

The Prime Towing case study covers a 24/7 towing company in Houston, Texas, with service area pages for Katy, Sugar Land, Missouri City and other Houston-area cities. The case study lists 16 service areas, a 4.8 Google rating from 53+ verified Google reviews and 693+ monthly customer interactions via website and Google. Its website build and Google Ads work are outside what our local SEO plans include.

For DFW context, the Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns found 767 auto body, paint and interior repair establishments and 220 towing establishments with a payroll in the metro's counties.

Dallas questions

My business is in Plano or Frisco. Should my listings say Dallas?
No. Every citation should show your real address, city included, written the same way each time, because a variation creates a duplicate listing. Frisco also crosses a county line: the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates place 140,753 of its residents in Collin County and 96,202 in Denton County, so a page that names a county should name both. If you also serve Dallas, put it on your priority city list and it becomes one of the targets mapped in the audit.
Can a Dallas business list Arlington and Fort Worth as service areas?
Yes, if you travel to customers there. Your profile keeps its Dallas address, and Arlington and Fort Worth go on it as service areas and on the priority list we map targets from. Arlington lies entirely in Tarrant County, and the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates place 1,006,863 of Fort Worth's 1,028,117 residents there, with the rest in Denton and Parker counties. Tarrant County anchors the Fort Worth-Arlington-Grapevine division in the Vintage 2025 metro estimates. A second real address on that side, such as a staffed shop or yard, is what our additional Google Business Profile location add-on covers.
Does the city of Dallas reach into Collin and Denton counties?
Yes. The Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates place 1,245,355 Dallas residents in Dallas County, 54,266 in Collin County and 29,865 in Denton County. If your Dallas address sits near the northern edge of the city, check which county it is in before a page or listing names one, and keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere.
Celina and Princeton have grown quickly. Should a Dallas business add them to its list?
Add them if you already take jobs there. In the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates, Celina went from 17,099 residents at the April 2020 estimates base to 64,427 in July 2025, a gain second only to Fort Worth among the metro's incorporated places, and Princeton went from 16,996 to 43,524. Both are in Collin County, and Celina also crosses into Denton County (6,069 of its Vintage 2025 residents). A town you want to target on its own can get an extra service area page.
What do Dallas businesses pay for local SEO?
Prices for all three plans, Starter, Business and Biz+, are on our pricing page. The plans differ in citation count, backlink volume, Google Business Profile enhancements and guest posts. Two add-ons fit a spread-out DFW footprint: extra service area pages for individual suburbs, and a second managed profile for a real address in, say, Tarrant County.
